CPL commemorates World Diabetes Day with Free screening

“About 30-40 precent of the people that we screen in the public are diagnosed with Diabetes”.

This was the alarming statistic revealed by the Deputy Secretary for Diabetes Association PNG, Joyce Sauk said.

 Sauk was talking today at a free Diabetes test in Port Moresby.

The screening saw participants check their Sugar levels, weight and height body mass index, blood pressure and total cholesterol tests.

Meantime, Category Manager for City Pharmacy, Pradeep Panda on a positive noted stated that such awareness has made people more mindful of their lifestyle choices.

The free screening is an initiative of the Diabetes Association of Papua New Guinea in partnership with City Pharmacy, Melanesian Association of PNG, NCD Health and Port Moresby General Hospital to commemorate the World Diabetes Day.
