We are currently sourcing for an experienced Mechanical Piping fitter to join our team in PNG. The successful candidate will be working in a live gas plant under shut down conditions to perform mechanical pipe fitting duties, like removing and installing large bore high pressure piping, valves using Bolt tensioning equipment, crane activities etc.

 This position is a rotational on a 28/28 day roster with a B2B support position.

 At this time, we will only consider applications from PNG Citizens.

Responsibilities  

  • Demonstrated working experience in live plant/shutdown activities.
  • Read and understand detailed drawings including isometric, lay-out and P&ID’s specifications to plan.
  • Be able to operate Bolt tensioning equipment
  • Responsible for  the installation of all process and mechanical work including compressors, pumps, valves and high pressure pipelines.
  • Experience in installing plant and equipment.
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Excel)
  • Team focused

 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical fitter, working in a live gas plant under shutdown activities.
  • Qualified mechanical tradesperson – Pipe fitter, Fitter and Turner, Motor Mechanic etc.
  • Experience in installing piping systems in a live plant with Flange and joint make up.
  • Understanding of a permit system
  • Experience4 in using Bolt tensioning equipment.
