Fun-filled day scheduled for POM residents

A fun-filled day promising lots of food, music performances and traditional dances has been scheduled for this Saturday.

The MyFAM Pacific Island Festival will be held within the Sir John Guise Stadium Precinct (stadium opposite Manasupe Haus).

The event will feature displays of cultural exhibitions and music performances in a festival format, with creative and food stalls available around the grounds.

What an excellent opportunity for a great outing with the family!

The traditional dances will feature performances by dance groups from pacific island communities within Port Moresby, including acts from the beautiful Anna Tupou and her Tongan community, the Tasman islands and Mortlock Islands respectively.

The music festival line-up will feature awesome sets from prominent talents from within and outside of Port Moresby, including Jaro Local, Sean Rii, Narxson, Elbig Raings, Didi & Micheal Maru.

Gates will open at 10am and the event will close at 5pm.

Ticket prices are going at K20 for adults, K15 for students with ID and K10 for children.

After touring the stalls, the grandstand and Southern Stand areas are open for all festival goers to sit and watch the day’s entertainment.

Vehicle passes are available for K20 for parking spaces within the stadium.
