Court dismisses Malaysian man’s case

The Waigani District court in Port Moresby has dismissed a case of false pretense against a Malaysian man today.

Ting Tiew Wei a Melanesian worker of a timber company, was offered K25000 from a local woman with the intension of buying cigarettes.

The case was first held on the 22nd of August 2016 and was adjourned for mention today.

However, Magistrate Cosmas Bidar found that there was no evidence against the defendant and therefore dismissed the case.

Meantime, the court has issued an order for the refund of the defendant’s bail money.
