Fairfax Media and Channel Nine report officers from NSW Police visited a house in Sydney’s inner west after Carter claimed Ferguson’s young children had ingested drugs.
Ferguson reportedly invited Carter over to his home where they were drinking until 3am before Ferguson asked the ex-backrower to leave before receiving a visit from police shortly thereafter.
“Emergency services were called to a home in Marrickville this morning after concerns were raised for the welfare of children,” a police spokesperson was quoted as saying.
“Officers from Marrickville Local Area Command attended about 5.15am and spoke with a 27-year-old man.
“Ambulance and paramedics checked two young children but no further police action is anticipated as this time.”
The NRL issued a statement to foxsports.com.au on the incident.
“The NRL integrity unit is aware of the matter. The Roosters will provide the NRL with a report once they have reviewed the matter,” a spokesperson said.
Carter was sacked by the Roosters in June following off-field indiscretions and last week pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine to his former teammate Shaun Kenny-Dowall.
